Starting in Paris for three days, the beauty of the city, the art museums, a dinner boat ride on the Seine. We will be staying in a quiet, lovely hotel on the Left Bank, just a few blocks from the Seine and the Louvre. Then we wind down through the Loire River Valley to beautiful Chenonceaux, the most beautiful of the Loire chateaux. Then to Brantome (often called the Venice of the Perigord region). Next, a day in St. Emilion, in the Bordeaux region, with a world-renowned wine expert. Next, an evening at an exquisite hotel in a lovely off-the-beaten-path medieval village. Then four nights at a beautiful farmhouse-like setting in the Dordogne, the owner a master chef, and visits to the beautiful villages of the Dordogne - Sarlat, Beynac, Castelnaud, LaRoque Gageac, including a visit to the world-famous Lascaux caves and their pre-historic paintings, and an afternoon at Chateau des Milandes, former home of the great singer, Josephine Baker. Then we visit Rocamadour, one of the great medieval pilgrimage centers, and spend an evening in St. Cirq LaPopie, in the Lot Valley, one of the most beautiful villages in France. The 11th day, we return to Paris.
Jim and Elizabeth will be accompanying the couple all the way in a private automobile. This tour is designed to represent the best of France, one that will convey the true flavor of the country, from the great city of Paris to the beautiful villages. Jim has filmed in many countries of the world, and is also the producer of the film - “Bordeaux & The Dordogne: A Tribute.”
